Financial Aid
Students should apply for the Free Application For Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 15 (the priority FAFSA filing date for most schools). You may use 2009 tax returns to estimate financial information for the 2011-2012 FAFSA form. Corrections should be made to your FAFSA as soon as your parents complete their 2010 tax return.
Please be aware that the FAFSA cannot be completed before January 1, 2011!

There is no cost associated with applying for Federal Aid. If you are asked to pay a fee, please leave the website and contact your child’s college advisor.
Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) www.tap.com
Available only to legal residents of New York State, who will be attending a college or university in New York State.

Some colleges and universities require that in addition to the FAFSA students submit the CSS Profile. The CSS Profile can be completed as early as October 1, 2010. This financial aid form allows colleges and universities to get a better picture of your financial status. Unlike the FAFSA, the CSS Profile allows a school to consider a families real life expenses when awarding financial packages. There is a fee associated with the CSS Profile $ 25.00 to register and submit to one school, there is a $16.00 fee for each subsequent submission. After the CSS Profile is completed students will learn if they qualify for a full or partial fee waiver to cover the cost of The CollegeBoard may provide a fee waiver. This fee waiver is based on the financial information provided on the CSS Profile.
